In addition to the founder and CEO, Steve
Horen, Koved’s team includes experienced and highly qualified
Care Managers with expertise in Geriatrics, Psychiatric Care, Hospice
and Palliative Care, and Medical / Surgical Care
Founder and CEO: Steven R. Horen
After spending many years in technology-focused Venture Capital
and Investment Banking, Steve re-discovered his passion for health care.
As a young person, he was actively involved during the formation and
planning
phases of the Connecticut Hospice, as a volunteer office worker and
member of the Building and Site Selection Committee. This involvement
stemmed from his family’s inclusion in the Hospice Care Feasibility
Study that was conducted at Yale University from 1969 - 1971, in which
his mother was a patient. This experience informs Koved’s goal
statement, which directs the Company to provide advocacy-driven, highly
coordinated care and care management intended to optimize quality of
life for our clients. Stated a different way, we apply the care optimization
principles of the Hospice movement to care for clients who are recovering
from acute illness, are living with chronic illness(es), or who are
at end of life.
Steve's early work history includes direct care-giving experience, having
worked as an orderly during and after college at hospitals in New York
City, Connecticut and California.
Koved Care provides an opportunity for Steve to apply all of the skills
and experience gained working with start-up / growth companies over
the course of the Manufacturing, VC and Equity Research phases of his
career. Mr. Horen holds joint MBA/MA East Asian Studies degrees from
the Darden School / University of Virginia, and a BA in Economics from
Beloit College. From 2003-2005 he served on the Board of Directors and
as Treasurer of New Leaf Services in San Francisco, a non-profit addiction
treatment program focused on the LGBT population.
Psychiatric and Geriatric
Care Manager: Lisa Amico, LCSW
Lisa has four years of Geriatric
Care Management experience, providing oversight and advocacy relative
to all aspects of care for clients. She has a proven track record
of optimizing quality of life for her clients. Lisa also has extensive
"front-line" and managerial experience working with axis-1
clients in community-based social rehabilitation programs, which qualifies
her very well for the type of coaching interaction that Koved Care has
with our Psyciatric clients.
Consulting RN Care

Administration
Fern is one of our consulting
Care Managers in San Francisco. She is an RN with over 20 years
of experience in homecare and case management. Fern is currently
a Utilization Review Manager for Kaiser Permanente, and is a member
of Koved Care's Advisory Board.
